How Tumescent Liposuction works
In the past, the surgery required blood transfusions because blood loss in the aspirate was significant. Tumescent Liposuction has allowed liposuction to be performed with the patient under local anesthesia while minimizing blood loss and the risks of general anesthesia. This allows liposuction to become less evasive and reduced the chances of serious complications.

The procedure is done as an outpatient with recovery at home. Most patients have very little pain following the surgery because long-acting local anesthetic is administered as part of the procedure. Tumescent Liposuction can be done in the office and you can often return to work in one or two days!
